TENUTA LA BORRIANA
On the hills only 10km from Prato and 20 km from Florence this estate is set in the splendid Tuscan countryside whose colours and contours are a singularly beautiful frame for this 17th century stone building.
The elegant furnishings with wrought-iron beds and Arte Povera furniture, together with the terracotta floors and wooden-beamed ceilings, confer a pleasant air of comfort. Some of the apartments and rooms can be inter-connected (Beccacino with Beccaccia, Leprotto with Lepre, Faina with Furetto, Falchetto with Falco).
The beautiful overflow style swimming pool (10 X 20 open May-September) affords a stunning view over the countryside around and there is a spacious sun-bathing area with deckchairs, sun-beds and gazebo. In the woods there are a several trekking paths suitable also for children for walking or cycling trips (mountain bikes can be hired at the farm).
The restaurant occupies what was once the hay barn and here guests can taste some excellent Tuscan dishes. Cooking courses for groups and wine tasting sessions in the wine cellar or during the dinner based on availability. The 30 hectare estate produces wine, olive oil, honey and jams. If they wish visitors can also join in the grape harvest in September-October. "Pavoniere" Golf Course 5km.
