In the heart of Chianti on the vineyard and olive-covered hills, only 16kms from Florence, this estate stretches for over 259 hectares. In the centre of the estate stands a Renaissance villa, one of the most beautiful Tuscan residences, with Italian garden. Originally a fortified tower, part of Florence's defence system, at the beginning of the 17th century the villa was renovated into its current Renaissance style, designed by the architect Santi di Tito. The grounds of the garden conceal the underground wine cellars where the excellent DOCG Chianti wines are stored along with the famous Tuscan "orciaia" (olive oil store).
Guests are accommodated in a farmhouse, 150m from the villa, renovated in 2000, with the utmost care, to preserve their original structure. The heart of the house is the kitchen with splendid cooking range and old bread oven. The guest rooms are all tastefully furnished with en-suite bathrooms and can be booked singly, with bed and breakfast, or together as a separate house. At the back of the garden a beautiful swimming pool (4 x 8 m. - open June/Sept.) with view of San Casciano.
In a farmhouse near the villa there is also an apartment with sitting room and kitchenette on the ground floor and two bedrooms on the first floor. This apartment has a private guest area outside and its guests can use the villa's swimming pool (6 x 15 m. - open June/Sept.). There is the restaurant opened at lunch from Monday to Saturday and, on request, also for dinner.Wi-fi service for free. Don't forget to taste the excellent wines sold in the delightful shop, beautifully furnished with original antique furniture. New restaurant opened to lunch from Monday to Saturday and in the evening only upon request.
