CA LICOZZO
With its valleys and mountains, green forests and fields this area is similar to an Alpine region. The sea, however, is only 50kms away (Fano), easily reached by car (30 min.). The farm's guest accommodation is in a spectacular position: a small country lane leads to a farmhouse which has been completely renovated and divided into 5 apartments in 2001, with a magnificent view over the impressive Monte massif. The beautiful swimming pool (6 x 10 m. - open 15th May/30th Sept.) is set on a panoramic veranda in front of the building. In the garden guests have access to the barbecue and gazebo for tasty evening grills on their return from one of the many walks along the country paths in search of truffles or mushrooms. The 60 hectare organic farm produces mainly forage and livestock cereal.
Piobbico, a typical medieval town in the inland Marche region, on the border with Umbria, is 3kms. away. In the town guests can visit the 17th century Brancaleoni Palace, and participate in some of the many folkloristic events (local fetes featuring traditional local dishes, the "Palio della panocchia", the Mushroom Show, wine-cellar celebrations etc.) 15kms to Urbania, the ancient Casteldurante and 35kms from Urbino, birthplace of Raffaello, 35kms from Gubbio. Pesaro 70kms, Ancona 90kms.
