LE FAVATE
Here we are in the heart of the Cilento National Park, in an area which closely resembles the Amalfi coast 100kms, with rocky cliffs plunging to the sea and beaches which open out towards hills with their typical Mediterranean vegetation and olive groves.
The road to the farm runs through a secular olive grove giving a unique atmosphere to this location surrounded by uncontaminated nature and close to the sea (Velia 4kms).
On arrival first impressions are extraordinary: the blue waters of the beautiful swimming pool perfectly match the sandy-coloured walls of the main stone country house and the light greys of the ancient doorways with a backdrop of green olive trees. This 100 hectare estate produces excellent wines and extra virgin olive oil and is a veritable paradise of tranquillity.
In the main farmhouse there is a charming chapel on the ground floor with frescoes and a beautiful tasting hall built in the rock where the farm products are displayed.
On the first floor there are two dining rooms and a scenic veranda for breakfast and dinner. The guest rooms are on this floor and on the second and are all extremely comfortable displaying a successful combination of original architecture (wooden ceiling beams, terracotta floors) and Arte Povera furnishings.
In front of the main farmhouse, a few metres from the swimming pool (9 x 18 - open May/Sept.), is another building with three comfortable apartments. For guests who seek greater privacy there is another stone farmhouse, 800 m from the main nucleus, with a splendid view of the sea housing 4 comfortable apartments, each with portico or private veranda.
